Montco jury awards $3M in breast-cancer death
Pennsylvania - New Jersey - New York - Nationwide

By Daily News Staff Writer
July 11, 2003
A jury in Norristown yesterday awarded $3 million to the estate of a Glenside woman who died of breast cancer after a doctor misread her mammogram.
The jury found Abington Radiology Associates and Dr. Norman Hauser guilty of negligence and wrongful death for the failure to diagnose the cancer following a routine mammogram in 1995.
Dagmar Lackman, 58, died in 1998, leaving behind four children and her husband, Thomas Lackman, a professor at Temple University.
The victim's attorney, Tom Kline of Philadelphia, described the case "as every woman's worst nightmare."
