Best Lawyers 2011-2012

Best Lawyers has named four Kline & Specter attorneys -- Tom Kline, Shanin Specter, Andy Stern and Lee Balefsky -- among its Best Lawyers in America for 2011-2012. In its magazine, Best Lawyers has featured both Kline and Specter individually in cover stories and together in 2012 with an article about their charitable giving. (See the article)
The peer-review rating service noted that Kline, whom it named Philadelphia Personal Injury Litigator of the Year for 2009, and Specter each received national recognition for the 10th time. The award was announced in U.S. News & World Report magazine.
In 2009, Best Lawyers decided to name Lawyers of the Year in six high-profile practice areas and in certain large legal communities, with Kline becoming the first in Philadelphia to win for the Personal Injury category. The honor was based on “a particularly high level of recognition from fellow attorneys."
In addition, Kline & Specter was selected as the nation’s No. 1 law firmfor Product Liability, plaintiff representation, for 2011-2012. The firm previously had been named in the “Tier 1” group – the top classification – for Mass Tort litigation and Product Liability. The Mass Tort Department remained among the Tier 1 firms for 2011-2012 and Kline & Specter continued as a designated a Tier 1 law firm for personal injury and medical malpractice litigation for the Philadelphia metropolitan region.
In selecting its top lawyers, Best Lawyers conducted surveys among thousands of leading lawyers who confidentially evaluated their professional peers.
Kline’s selection as Philadelphia’s top personal injury attorney was announced in a supplement to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
