Kline & Specter's appellate practice is staffed with distinguished and experienced attorneys who are as skilled on briefing matters as they are in arguing before appellate panels.

The practice is headed by Chip Becker, who is recognized by publications and peers as one of the best appellate lawyers in Pennsylvania. Andra Laidacker, another Kline & Specter partner, is also one of Pennsylvania's finest appellate lawyers, having developed her extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania law and appellate practice clerking for former Chief Justice Ron Castille of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and serving on the Supreme Court's Appellate Courts Procedural Rules Committee. Kim Collins has recently joined the appellate practice after clerking for Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Sallie Mundy and then practicing law with some of Pennsylvania's finest law firms.

Kline & Specter's appellate team integrates their understanding of substantive and procedural law with experience in appellate practice and with a fierce commitment to protecting the firm's clients. This combination has led the appellate practice to be recognized as a leading appellate practice in Pennsylvania. Plaintiffs' lawyers frequently turn to Kline & Specter's appellate lawyers when seeking help protecting large jury verdicts or seeking amicus curiae support on important legal issues.

From helping in the drafting of complaints and discovery motions to handling post-trial issues to arguing before appellate courts, the practice is deeply involved in all aspects of the firm's cases. The firm's appellate lawyers are consulted on whether to take cases from the outset and on issues at every step through the litigation process. Its lawyers are as adept at defending favorable outcomes as they are in pursuing reversal of an adverse decision.

Because of the firm's appellate practice, defense attorneys and their clients know that Kline & Specter has the ability and commitment to litigate at every conceivable stage of the litigation system -- from trial courts to the United States Supreme Court.

Kline & Specter has a team of attorneys who are well-versed with the appellate process. They are highly capable of defending against an appeal or pursuing reversal of a decision or verdict in a number of practice areas, including medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, civil rights, automobile accidents, workplace injuries and pharmaceutical litigation.
