Johnson & Johnson talcum powder has been linked to cases of cancer, sparking thousands of lawsuits and a number of enormous verdicts. According to the lawsuits, the company knew of the carcinogenic association for years but failed to warn customers of the risks.

If you or a loved one developed ovarian cancer or mesothelioma after long-term use of Johnson’s Baby Powder – now removed from the U.S. market — or Shower to Shower talc brands, you may have a legal claim and you should contact our experienced product liability attorneys. We provide free reviews for cases nationwide. Kline & Specter, PC, handles cases in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware and works with local attorneys in other states across the nation as applicable.

Our law firm has more than 50 attorneys, five of whom are also doctors, the most of any law firm in the country. We also have the most large verdicts of any law firm in America. Kline & Specter has had great success against Johnson & Johnson, including a recent $8 billion punitive damages verdict in a pharmaceutical trial and nine verdicts totaling $347 million against J&J in vaginal mesh cases.

In talcum powder cancer cases, a Missouri jury in one trial awarded $4.69 billion to 22 women who contracted ovarian cancer after using Johnson’s Baby Powder. Experts say the product contains asbestos. Most recently, a New Jersey jury awarded $787 million to four women stricken with mesothelioma after using J&J talcum powder. Both verdicts included substantial punitive damages.

J&J announced on May 19, 2020 that it would stop selling its iconic talc-based Johnson’s Baby Powder in the United States and Canada, citing lagging sales in the wake of lawsuits – nearing 20,000 nationwide — claiming it has caused cancer. The world’s largest maker of health care products had by that date lost 15 jury trials over its talcum products. A number of those case were mass torts, with more than one plaintiff in each case.
