A lawsuit has been filed in Philadelphia on behalf of a woman who was killed in a gas explosion that destroyed or damaged 55 condominium units Ewing Township, N.J. Named as defendants were Public Electric Service & Gas Co. and contractor Henkels & McCoy, Inc. The suit was filed on behalf of the family of Linda Cerritelli, 62, who was working from her home when the explosion occurred March 4 after utility workers digging outside struck a gas line. Attorney Tom Kline, of the Philadelphia-based law firm Kline & Specter, PC, filed the suit after independent investigators to look into the tragedy. He said his probe revealed that workers onsite knew a gas line had been struck and that gas was escaping but they failed to call 911, shut off the gas or try to evacuate residents while they searched for several hours for the source of the leak.
