Hachette Books recalls more than 70,000 children’s books

Serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York & Nationwide

Two children’s books titled “Count My Kisses, 1, 2, 3” and “Red, Green, Blue, I Love” You recently were recalled due to the potential harm they could cause to small children. The Hachette Book Group, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, issued the recall of 70,000 of these books.

The two books were constructed with metal rods on the cover that hold small beads in place with which children can play. According to the CPSC, the rods and beads can become detached, causing potential choking and laceration hazards.

Although there have not been any reported injuries related to the recall, The CPSC stated these books should be taken away from children immediately. The books were sold at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com as well as other book retailers and outlets around the country during the summer of 2013.
