American Honda recently issued a recall of 21,000 of its 2012 and 2013 Honda FourTrax TRX500 Foreman ATV’s. The all-terrain vehicles have steering shafts that can potentially break and cause riders to lose control.
The ATV’s were manufactured in the United States and sold at Honda ATV dealerships nationwide from May of 2011 to September of 2013.The recalled ATV’s are four-wheel drive Honda FourTrax500 Foreman, Models FE and FM. They are red, green, or camouflage. They have “Honda” written on either side of the fuel tank and “Foreman” on the front cowl below the handlebars as well as the left rear fender.
The recall includes a wide range of VIN numbers and it was recommended that owners check with Honda or visit www.CPSC.gov for a list of the affected vehicles. Consumers were told to stop using the ATV’s immediately and to contact a Honda ATV dealership to schedule a free repair.
