Lawsuits Filed Over E-Cigarette Explosions

Serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York & Nationwide

e-cig explosionsLawsuits are being filed across the country over exploding e-cigarettes claiming that the manufacturers made and sold defective products that are a danger to e-cigarette smokers.

Plaintiffs claim the batteries that power e-cigarettes are unregulated, poorly manufactured and not adequately labeled to warn consumers of the danger they may pose.

In California, a woman was awarded $1.9 million by a jury after she suffered severe burns from her e-cigarette exploding in her car. In one recently filed case a teenager suffered partial blindness and in another, a woman suffered third-degree burns from an e-cigarette exploding in her pocket.

Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found 134 reports of explosions, fires, and overheating from e-cigarettes between 2009 and early 2016, e-cigarette manufacturers are trying to blame users for their injuries.

At Kline & Specter, PC, we fight against the manufacturers of defective products to get our injured clients the compensation they deserve. We have won major verdicts and settlements for our clients including millions of dollars against companies such as Ford and Johnson & Johnson.
