October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York & Nationwide

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to increase awareness the early detection of breast cancer.

Breast cancer, in the early stages, can sometimes present in different ways.  Symptoms could include a change in the size or the shape of the breast, dimpling of breast tissue, inverted nipple, lump in the breast or underarm, nipple discharge including blood, rash, or pain in any area of the breast. If you have any signs that worry you, be sure to see your doctor right away.   You may need a mammogram, ultrasound or MRI of the breast tissue.

The key to successfully treating breast cancer is to diagnose the cancer as early as possible.  If your doctor doesn’t order the appropriate tests, or fails to diagnose breast cancer, it can spread or metastasize to other areas of the body. The more advanced the breast cancer becomes, the harder it is to treat successfully.  Early detection and treatment of breast cancer can lead to a more favorable outcome.

If you or someone close to you believes that there was a delay in diagnosing breast cancer you may want to speak with a delay in diagnosing cancer lawyer or law firm that has successfully represented victims of medical malpractice.
