Kimberly M. Collins has broad experience as a Pennsylvania appellate court law clerk, litigator and elected public official. Her practice at Kline & Specter focuses on appellate matters.

Collins, who in 2021 was elected to a four-year term on the Ridley Park Borough Council, previously worked for Ricci Tyrell Johnson & Grey in Philadelphia and before that at White and Williams, LLP.

Her previous work included litigating premises, product liability and general litigation matters, conducting site visits and employee and witness interviews, negotiating settlement agreements, drafting and arguing objections and motions for case dismissals, taking and defending depositions and drafting post-trial motions as well as appellate briefs.

For nearly six years after graduating the Temple University Beasley School of Law, Collins worked in the Pennsylvania appellate court system, first as a law clerk for Superior Court Judges James J. Fitzgerald III and Sallie Updyke Mundy, then moving with Mundy to the Supreme Court. Her work included reviewing petitions to the Supreme Court and drafting proposed majority and responsive opinions for consideration by justices of the state’s highest court.

Collins has been published many times, including by Sports Litigation Alert, a Hackney Publication, in 2023 on the “The Best Defense: Knowing the Rules of the Game,” and on various topics for JD Supra, a social media publication distributed to the news media, in-house counsel and corporate executives.

As a member of the Ridley Park Borough Council, Collins serves on the finance committee and is liaison to the board of recreation and the school district.

At Beasley Law, Collins won many academic honors, among them inclusion on the Dean’s List, distinguished class performance and outstanding oral advocacy for trial advocacy, best papers for criminal law and criminal appellate procedure and distinguished class performance for criminal law. She earned her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Scranton.

Collins is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court of New Jersey and the U.S. Western District of Pennsylvania.
