Among the latest product recalls announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) are the following:

  • IKEA recalled SMILA-Series children’s wall-mounted lamps due to strangulation hazard; one child death reported ( 23 million units )
  • Angelcare recalled Repair Movement and Sound Baby Monitors after two deaths due to strangulation (600,000)
  • Shaw Industries recalled carpet due to fire hazard; sold exclusively at Lowe’s (16,300 yards)
  • Manhattan Group recalled Baby Rattles due to choking hazard (12,500)
  • Trek recalled Madone bicycles for crash hazard; front brake can fail (6,800)
  • Eight retailers recalled 32” Coby Flat Screen Televisions due to fire and burn hazards (8,900)
  • Crown Boiler recalled Home Heating Boilers due to carbon monoxide hazard (2,200)
  • Doodlebutt recalled Jelly BeadZ Jumbo BeadZ and Magic Growing Fruity Fun Toys due to  ingestion hazard (1,500 units)
  • American Boy and Girl recalled Infant Sandals for choking hazard; Sold exclusively at Meijer Stores (1,300)
